Living on the Edge By Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser

Stories of Inspiration

In Living on the Edge, Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser eloquently recounts astonishing stories that teach us about compassion, human resilience and the power of faith. From Birmingham, Alabama to San Antonio, Texas, from South Africa to the Balkans, Rabbi Goldwasser has traversed the globe, speaking to and inspiring Jews of diverse backgrounds.

Parents in Great Britain struggle to save their son from a cult. A young couple in New York City deals with the possibility that their unborn child will be born with serious problems. A man from Prague tries to overcome a lifetime of loneliness. Wheelchair-bound teenagers long to be part of a weekend religious event. A Jewish school in Sarajevo conducts classes while was rages around them. Prisoners in a New York high security penitentiary are thrilled to hear live music, sin songs and feel part of the Jewish community again. These extraordinary true stories describe ordinary people facing challenging situations.

Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser portrays his often heart wrenching encounters with these people in crisis with sensitivity and insights. No reader will be able to walk away from this book without being both moved and inspired.
